I lost - to my chagrin - the Dutch citizenship of my birth, because the Dutch constitution adheres to the common but benighted school of thought which holds that if you voluntarily take on another nationality, except through marriage, you are deemed to have given up your Dutch citizenship.
  Married to Anne C. Sibert.
  Hobbies: Science fiction and fantasy novels, poetry, music, theatre, tennis, open source/free software.
